WHAT IS DRDO ?
The full form of DRDO is “Defense Research and Development Organization” which works under the Government of India. DRDO was established in 1958 and its headquarter is located in New Delhi. Presently G. Satheesh Reddy is the Chairman of DRDO.
How To Become A DRDO Scientist?
To do the job of scientist in DRDO, you have to clear GATE Exam. Every year DRDO recruits Scientist through GATE Exam. Mostly entry level scientist i.e Scientist B is recruited from this exam and according to the need, recruitment is also done for higher posts like Scientist C and Scientist H.
After passing the GATE exam i.e. “Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering” you will have a Written descriptive test and finally on the basis of personal interview you can do the job of scientist in DRDO.

GATE EXAM ELIGIBILITY
• You must be an Indian citizen to Apply for GATE exam
• Candidate should have completed graduation from B.E/ B.Tech with 50% percent or should have maintained 6.75 CGPA.
• The maximum age limit for Scientist B is 28 years while applying for GATE exam, where SC/ ST candidates get 5 years, OBC candidates 3 years, PWD candidates 10 years relaxation.
There is a relaxation of 13 years for PW with OBC candidates, 15 years for PWD for SC/ST candidates and 5 years for Central Civil Government Employees.

GATE Exam Application Fees
You will have to submit the application of GATE exam online, whose fee is ₹ 100 for general category, SC / ST / PWD / Women candidates are exempted.

The salary of Scientist in DRDO ranges from 15,000 to 40,000 per month whose grade pay is ₹ 5,400, at the time of joining DRDO Scientist salary is around 60, 000 per month
